Hi, I’m Juliana.
Senior product designer at Jscrambler, based in Porto. I like making complex things feel simple.
How I got here
I started out behind a camera. I studied photography, then took a one-year multimedia course where I tried a bit of everything: design, code, video. A design internship at Webcomum, a digital agency, is where it clicked. I got to design and build real things, and I fell for product design.
I then spent two years at EuDigital, another agency, designing websites for clients in every industry you can imagine. After that I joined Jscrambler as a UX designer and became its first product designer. Six years later I’m a senior product designer, still working on some of the most complex problems I’ve come across.
I didn’t set out to work in security. I kind of fell into it. I stayed because it’s full of complexity, and complexity is full of opportunities to make things better.
How I work
I’m drawn to products where there’s a lot to understand: complex systems, unfamiliar concepts, and people making important decisions with limited information. The interesting part isn’t making an interface look good. It’s figuring out what people need to understand, what they need to do, and how the product can get them there.
I like asking questions, challenging assumptions, getting into the details, and working closely with others to find solutions that make sense, not just on screen but in the real world.
Good design doesn’t hide complexity. It makes complexity easier to navigate.

A few things about me
- My dog Iris is my shadow. If I’m home, she’s two steps behind me.
- I collect hobbies. Painting, embroidery, jigsaw puzzles… I’m always trying something new.
- The latest one is indoor climbing. I started convinced I’d fall and break a leg. Now I’m (mostly) at peace with heights.
- I read 36 books last year. The Underground Railroad is the one that stayed with me.
- This year I went to Slovenia for the lakes and views, and Bali for an experience like no other.
